I believe compliance should help a business operate better.
After more than 30 years in transport, I've seen what happens when compliance becomes disconnected from the operation. Policies sit in folders, procedures don't reflect what actually happens, and people spend more time managing compliance than using it to make better decisions.
Good compliance should be practical, proportionate and built into the way the business operates. It should help people understand risk, make safer decisions and run stronger operations.
That's the approach I bring to my work — whether I'm auditing a business, contributing to an industry project, developing a resource or simply helping someone make sense of a difficult requirement.
